HSMX: For those who don't know about your injury, can you explain to them what happened?

Aaron: Well, I was down at Riverview Practice Tracks down in Resaca,GA riding with Scott Smith. We were riding on the supercross sand track and doing all the jumps but the triple. I finally jumped the triple and made it a few times and then, I think it was the third time, I jumped it and I knew I was coming up short. So I bailed.

HSMX: What was going through your mind?

Aaron: I knew it was going to hurt when I hit the ground, but I had no idea how bad. I landed flat on my feet from about a twenty foot drop at third gear tapped. I knew something was broken when I hit.

HSMX: What was the extent of your injuries?

Aaron: After cutting my pants off and letting my ankles swell out to the size of softballs,we drove to the hospital. My right ankle was broken and my left heel was shattered. The heel was the worst pain I could ever imagine. I ended up getting some screws put in my ankle and having a plate put on my heel with eight srews holding it in. I spent six months in a wheelchair and didn't do much of anything besides go to school, go to rehab, and lay in bed. I finally got the screws removed from my ankle, but the heel plate and screws will remain in there for life.

HSMX: Did you ever think I'm never going to ride again?

Aaron: No, I always knew I would ride again and I wanted to badly. Being in that wheelchair sucked except for the pampering and attention I got from all the hotties.(Pauses to reminisce) Anyway riding is to much fun to let something like this stop me. It's what I love to do.

HSMX: Are you riding now?

Aaron: Yeah, I'm back on a bike. I'm getting my speed back and it's getting better everytime I ride. I'm also starting to do some of the freestyle tricks I used to do. I'll be back to speed in no time.

HSMX: It's great to have you back riding again and we will see you at the track soon.

Aaron: Thanks alot!
