Rider lets it air out over 70 foot single over tabletop. Chattanooga Motocross Park is under new ownership and the track is in excellent shape. The good people at Extreme Cycles, located about 5 min. from the track, own it now and have already made a lot of improvements. They are sure to make a lot more. At their first race on December the 30 they had brought in saw dust and sand to mix in the red clay that is so common to tracks around the area. The track is no longer so hardpack ,but is more loamy. The course now has banners around the whole thing which makes it look more professional. Nationally renoun track designer Glen Bates has designed an awesome new track. The track is now ran the opposite direction from what it did last year. If you haven't been in a while you won't recognize it at all. The track is now a lot longer with some great obstacles.
Here is what one lap around the new track would be like. First, the starting gate has been moved to the back of the track. You start from there and go into a sweeping left turn, then down a short straight into a 180* left hand turn into a double. When you land be ready to brake and go into 180* right turn and into the rhythm section. This section is five doubles back to back. You may be able to triple, triple, double, double the section. From there you hit a camel back that is in a left turn. You'll need to be able to turn the bike in the air to hit this right. The camel back is followed by two doubles and a straight away that goes into the face of a single that sends you up on top of the hill over a table-top then another table top follows that is about 60' long. After landing you will hit a small double that is followed by a hard left turn. You'll need to be on the brakes when you land. Out of the turn you'll hit a single up onto a table-top then hit a jump in the middle of the table-top that sends you the rest of the way over. After the table top you make a left turn into a whoop section that has around twenty whoops in it. This is where you can make time or loose it very easily. These whoops must be blitzed. After the whoops you hit a left 180* turn and then a single over another camelback. A 180* right turn follows and you hit a step-up double then a table top back down to the lower part of the track. Back in the lower part of the track youll hit a small double then a "S" turn then down a stretch that has two doubles in it. This section is fast. At the end of the stretch is the left hand sweeper you start from. The track is fun and safe. Glen has done an awesome job. A few of the tracks Glen has designed are Paradise, Bremen, Tunnel Hill, and High Falls. Everyting at Chattanooga MX seems to be running smoother and should make for some exciting racing. Oh, be sure to show up on time because when they say for ex. practice at 8:00 practice will be at 8:00 sharp. No more delays! I encourage you to come out and enjoy what is sure to be a great year at Chattanooga Motocross. The picture at the top center of the page is a link to the Chattanooga Motocross website.
